Directions for your own “Waltzing Matilda”

Your song should:

· Be 3 stanzas long (with a chorus after each stanza)

· Use the same syllable structure from “Waltzing Matilda” for each line (in other words, the first line of the first stanza of “Waltzing Matilda” has 12 syllables, so the first line of the first stanza of your song needs 12 syllables, too. Repeat this for every line in every stanza and every chorus.)

· Use at least 4 Australian slang terms in every stanza (use your Australian slang packet to find these).

· Tell a story of some kind.
