Mrs. Noonan's PE Class

Mrs. Noonan's PE Class

Subject: Physical Education - Grade(s): 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade

I don't live to exercise. I exercise to live.

Welcome to Physical Education at Century Middle School.  Physical Education is one of the 8 required MYP classes. Throughout the year, our students will see improvements in their overall fitness as we give them opportunities to gain in muscular strength and muscular endurance, flexibility and cardio-respiratory stamina.  We also offer students a wide range of game and sport activities that will hopefully spark a lifelong love of physical activity.

We do require our students to wear a  PE uniform. Uniforms can be purchased on line at the PayForIt link at the bottom of the Century Webpage or you can pay in the school's main office and we sell them throughout the year in the PE officies.  Our uniforms are really cool - your choice of neon green, pink, blue, orange and grey T-shirts and black shorts.  The cost is $15 for the set.  "Your workout is my warm-up" is on the back! Very intimidating!

This year we will incorporate many health lessons into our PE curriculum so that our students are knowledgable and capable of making wise decisions about their health.

We are hosting 2 PE FAMILY ACTIVITY NIGHTS at school this year :  the first is October 5th from 6 - 7:30 PM and the second is March 1st from 6 - 7:30 PM.  We will offer 2 activities in the gym and 2 activities in the Fitness Center.  Please bring your family and come and play and work out together!

"Even if you're slow, you are still lapping the guy on the couch!"

We want you to move and set some improvement goals and challenge yourself to be better.  You can't wish that, it takes work and dedication.  In PE we push you to make gains, to reach goals, to be proud of your achievements.  We want you to be responsible for your behavior, your preparedness for class, your caring about your fellow classmates, and bring some energy and enthusiasm to class each day. In PE we assess your knowledge, your performance, your ability to plan and prepare for improvment and to reflect on your performance.  So let's get Moving!
