Ms. Yawin's Class
DISTANCE LEARNING INFORMATION:
This is new to all of us so I am here to help! I will keep revising this page as I know more.
New and "improved" study sessions: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays: 1:30-3:30 p.m.
You can contact me through video conferencing or email. Access to video conferencing is linked to Google Classroom under the topic Distance Learning in "Study Sessions/Office Hours". OF COURSE, you can email me any time and I will get back to you as soon as I can :)
Attendance Info: I will be checking completion of work at the end of each week on Saturdays by 4pm. If you have completed your work for the week, I will mark you "present" in attendance for the entire week.
Classwork: I will post weekly lessons and assignments on Google Classroom. Everything you need will be posted by Sunday morning, and will be due the next Saturday night.
Homework: Big Ideas online (Clever). Instructions on how to access it are on Google Classroom under the topic Distance Learning in "How to login to Big Ideas Online".
Assessments: Assessments will be in Big Ideas online OR another online program. Directions on what and where your assessment for the week is will be in the weekly slideshow.
Brain Boost: Remember to take a 3-minute movement break every 20 minutes to refuel your brain. That doesn't mean video games, TV, or even reading. It means get up and move -- play tag, take a pet for a quick walk, do some stretches. You can teach people in your house how to play Higher/Lower, Gotcha, and Four Corners!
As long as students are actively participating and engaging with their teachers in remote learning, students will maintain or even improve the grades they earned during the first three quarters of the year.
Students who choose not to actively participate in remote learning could have their grades drop.
There may be more information to update. Please don't worry. I'll be extra patient with you, and I ask that you be patient with me too.
