Blended Learning is the use of technology to support a teacher's regular teaching structure. By having computers available for students at all times, a teacher can differentiate for any child's need when necessary. The technology also provides a way for students to collaborate on projects, display their performances, organize their work more efficiently, and work with individuals beyond the walls of the classroom. The technology does NOT replace the teacher; it enhances their instructional capabilities. There are many different ways to use Blended Learning in a classroom or school. At Century, we believe in a ratio of 10 computers to 30 students. This formula insures that students do more discussion and processing in collaborative teams, which matches the goals of the 21st century learner.
