Hi everyone, my name is Keith Sweeney- I'm a new science teacher here at Century Middle school (eighth grade). I grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota- where a piece of my heart will always remain (except during the winter). I originally got my bachelor's degree in Anthropology from UW-Madison, but then switched over to Education after living and working as an ESL teacher in Beijing, China from 2008-2010. I bring a wide variety of experiences to the classroom, and an independant and inquiring mind as well.
The sciences have always been a great passion of mine; I've been fascinated with every area in the sciences since I was a small child, and I'm very excited to share this passion with my students this year. I believe that learning should be fun, and that the lessons taught in my classroom should relate to the outside world, and should be applicable beyond just the classroom. I also see it as my job as a teacher to give my students all of the tools I can to help them become independant learners- so that as they grow up they can continue learning outside of the classroom.
