My name is Mr. Mike Rodriguez and I am a Visual Art Teacher at Century Middle School. I have an MFA in 3D Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I'm an artist at heart and love to share my knowledge with students of all ages. My BA is from Texas A&M University where I specialized in Technology Management. I'm a huge fan of tech and use it frequently as a means to teach and create artwork. This is my first year teaching at Century where I am currently instructing 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes
Last Spring I was a long term art substitute here at Century and I grew to love the school for it's stance toward making kids successful in all aspects of their life. As an art instructor I believe that Wassily Kandinsky said it best "to create a world of art is to create the world." I feel that each and every student can be creative and that there is no such thing as failure within an art piece.
Outside of the classroom I am a husband of almost 9 years and a father to a 4 year old and 5month old, both boys. I'm a high school varsity football referee and an avid sports lover as well as outdoor enthusiast. I've also been a drummer for 22 years and play drums bi-weekly at Northern Hills Church on Hwy 7.
If you have questions, comments or concerns please feel free to reach out to me via email and I will respond within 24 hours.
