Mrs. O'Hagan's Creative Writing Class

General Education

Creative writing gives students the opportunity to play with language to entice, entertain, and engage a reader.  We will work in the narrative genre, practice with descriptive writing, dabble in persuasive writing, and compose narrative nonfiction.  We will close the semester with a unit on poetry.  Wherever possible we will include multimedia and art.  Students will get a chance to be involved in the response and revision of other's work, and they will get a chance to share their own creations with our community of writers.  All of these activities will enhance their ability to write in all different genres--including academic writing.    Click HERE for syllabus.
