Welcome back from Summer Break
Hello 6th graders and families!!!
I hope that things are going well for you all. I know that getting back to school in person will take some adjustment, we will do our best to support each other and make this transition as easy as possible for everyone.
The first few days we will focus on getting to know each other and the classroom structures and procedures. I feel that building a safe and well-organized learning environment makes it easier for everyone to grow and develop. We will begin a more "normal" classroom routine as soon as possible. I first want to see where the students are academically and try my best to meet them where they are at! It's no surprise that many of the students might have struggled with the on-line and hybrid learning models used the past few years. That being said, we need to make the most of the opportunities we have this year. That means to me that I have to be strategic in my lesson planning and the students need to be focus and make the most of their time both in and out of the classroom. I strongly support work/play balance for myself, my sons, and my students. In addition to that, I feel that working together as a three-part team; student, teacher, and family is the best way to get the students to be successful. In order to build the team that we need it to takes communication. So please reach out to me and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I will be using the email address provided on Infinite Campus(IC) as the main way to connect with families, so please be sure that you have the more current address available.
Thank you for your time I look forward to working with and building a strong relationship with you and your child.
