Today is Friday, January 18, 2019

CHECK it out!  Chess Club will be starting next Thursday, January 24.  Meetings will be held after school in the library, from 4-5pm.  If you are interested, please sign up in the main office or see Mr. Justis in F103.

Next Tuesday, January 22nd, students who were invited, will go to observe programs in action at Bollman Tech.  Go to your first period as usual and then you will be called to meet for the bus. If there are any questions, please contact Ms Golden or Ms Gilio.

If you are interested in learning more about spring show choir, there will be an informational meeting in room B-100  (the choir room) on Wednesday, January 23rd from 2:20-2:30. Come join the fun! If you can't make the meeting, but you are interested, please stop by the choir room and talk to Mrs. Espey.

Guten Tag!  German club is today from 4:00 to 4:30 in D211.  See Frau Needle if you have any questions. Come for a celebration of German culture and some treats.  You do not have to be taking German to celebrate German culture. Bring a friend. Bis dann!

The Lego Robotics Club will be meeting today from 4 to 5 o'clock in room E101. We have two weeks to finalize our projects for the showcase.

Spanish club will meet today in room D210 with Ms. Rendon.  Hope to see you there.

Ms. Craig's students want to remind you to look at posters around the school and bring items to support Dumb Friends League Animal Shelter.  There is a collection area at the end of D Hallway. We are also collecting money in the office. Please help support our 8th grade project!

Ms. Craig's class will once again be setting up a table to sell Christmas goodies during lunches, the last week of school, prior to break.  Please bring you dollar bills and be ready to buy some holiday sweets and treats!

Thanks, OASIS!  What a great way to end our fall hiking season...at Red Rocks Park!  We toured the Rock'n' Roll Museum, yelled,  "We Belong Outside" on the amphitheater stage, hiked  2 1/2 miles UP and around the Red Rocks, and created echos off the rock walls with all of our middle school craziness!  We missed our OASIS band members, but we had a great trip and we had a great little group! Happy Trails for now...and Remember You Belong Outside!!

From October 8-11 the Book Fair will be held in the library.  Your language arts teacher will bring you to the library to see what is available.  The Book Fair will be open during parent teacher conferences on Wednesday and Thursday night- so please bring your parents to the library after your conferences!

Century Middle School will be having private tutoring lessons after school starting October 9th for all jazz instruments (saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and percussionists). Sessions are free of charge and will begin immediately after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:30pm in B101. These lessons are all lead by your fellow 8th grade students and friends with the supervision of Mr. CB. So come join all the fun and get all the help you need from students with 2 or more years experience.  Visit the office for the schedule.

OASIS had a wonderful hike to Brainard Lake and Indian Peaks Wilderness.   We hiked 3 miles, ate dinner on the beach of a alpine lake, and were surrounded by 13,000 foot mountains.  We really appreciated what a great group we had. Thank you for getting to know each other and for looking out for each other on the trail! See you in October and remember, "You Belong Outside!"
