Today is Constitution Day. This morning 25 flags, each representing two states of the union, were posted by members of National Junior Honor Society and Student Council to honor our country and those who have served.
On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created which is our Constitution. Today we celebrate that document which was a cornerstone in founding our country.
In 2004 a law was passed that mandates that all students and schools study the Constitution, and that this day, once known as Citizenship Day, celebrates this document that founded our country.
Today Century celebrates Constitution Day and thanks those who currently serve, and have served our country, by flying the stars and stripes of our country. and remembers the founding documents which give us our freedoms in this country.
