2024 Bond Program, Investing in Student Success

Century Middle School Bond Projects

As part of the 2024 bond, Century Middle School is set to receive a comprehensive series of improvements aimed at enhancing safety and security, boosting student and staff comfort, and improving our learning environments. Bond projects include replacing the roof, modernizing classrooms, upgrading HVAC systems, and updating classroom furnishings to create more flexible and comfortable spaces.

To support a district-wide expansion of career and technical education (CTE), existing classrooms at Century Middle School will be redesigned to accommodate new, career-oriented programs. These spaces will be used to expose students to practical, hands-on learning in areas such as design, business and entrepreneurship. By introducing CTE in middle school, the district is helping students uncover new interests, develop essential skills and start thinking about their long-term educational and career goals.

The district is also investing in school safety and security, including new door sensors, upgraded locks, improved intercom systems and better building access controls. The school will also see enhancements to athletic fields and technology infrastructure.

Projected construction budget:

$5.9 million to $7.1 million

Bond Investment Areas at Century Middle School

The 2024 bond is focused on improving and updating facilities across the district. All bond projects will benefit students, staff and the community by investing in our buildings and – by extension – investing in our community. These investments vary from paving and resurfacing projects to major interior and exterior overhauls to update school furnishings and finishes.

All schools are also receiving comprehensive IT upgrades through the 2024 bond. These upgrades will support faster network connections and support advanced classroom tools. IT projects will also boost school safety and security, with improved security cameras, exterior door sensors and updated safety systems.
