Our Principal

Ms. Kristin Devlin - Principal

Welcome to Century Middle School - Home of the COMETS!!  I'm Ms. Devlin and your principal!!  I have been in education since 2002, and have served as Principal at Century since 2020. Prior to being named Principal, I served as an Assistant Principal at Century and Northglenn High School.  My experience also spans instructional coaching and being the IBMYP coordinator at Thornton Middle School.  I am a product of Adams 12 schools and went to Tarver Elementary, Westlake Middle School and graduated from Horizon.  I would have attended Century in 1992-94 if it was around!  After high school graduation I went to the University of West Florida to play softball and work on a degree in education!  I received a BA in Elementary Education from UWF in 2001 and came back to teach in Adams 12!  I began working for Adams 12 at age 16 as a BASE leader at Mountain View and Skyview Elementary Schools as well as a paraprofessional in the SSN program at Niver Creek Middle.  I spent my time teaching 7th and 8th grade language arts, as well as 6th grade math and social studies.

I spent lots of my time growing up in schools and fire stations!  I come from a long time of public servants; teachers and firefighters.  My mom taught middle school mathematics and special education for nearly 40 years, 17 of those years in Adams 12 and several at Century!  My dad was a public servant in our community as a Fire Chief for Thornton and other local fire departments.  He was also a music educator when he started his fire service career.  I also have had numerous other family members in education and the fire service!

I continued my education receiving a Master's Degree from The University of Colorado at Denver in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in reading and writing.  Upon completion of my Master's I then got an endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from Regis University as well as my Principal License from The University of Denver.  I guess you could infer that I enjoy school and learning!  My primary focus is now my own kiddos!  My oldest daughter, Maddie, is off at Wilmington University in Delaware playing softball after graduating from Horizon High School.  She is studying criminal justice and loves being on the east coast by the beach!  My son, Braydon, is a senior at Horizon and enjoys playing lacrosse as well as attending welding class at Future Forward at Washington Square!  Washington Square has provided Braydon with so many opportunities that I'm so grateful for!  He has completed his Firefighter I course as well as Welding I and is now in Welding II.  Our CTE options for students, including my own, has been life changing!  My little, Morgan, is a new middle schooler at our neighborhood middle school - Rocky Top!  She keeps me on my toes by playing numerous sports and running around the neighborhood.  You will see all three of my kiddos at Century events helping me supervise and just enjoying our student body!

Outside of school I love to coach softball, volunteer for different community organizations, read, travel all over and practice pilates and yoga!  Pretty much everything I do revolves around my kids and their school or hobbies!  I also have a love for Early Childhood Education.  I own and operate a local preschool within the Century boundary area and is very vested in seeing the kids in our community thrive.  I am most commonly found at sporting events for her kids or watching some of our Denver sports teams compete!
