Teaching is my second career and I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to serve my own community while sharing my love for science! I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and I am currently working on my Master's in Education at Western Colorado University. While I enjoyed a career in I.T. for over 11 years, I knew early on that teaching was my real passion and I spent many years volunteering in educator roles for various non-profits. I absolutely love working with middle-schoolers - I admire their curiousity, independence, and honesty. I strive to have a classroom in which students feel safe, respected, and ready to learn. I look forward to working with the students and their families this school year!
I'm from Fort Collins but have lived in and around Thornton for the past 17 years. My husband and I have three children that attend Adams12 schools and we are proud to be part of the Five Star community! I absolutely love being in the mountains and spend much of the summer in the Poudre Canyon in Northern Colorado. In my free time I lead a large, active local Girl Scout troop and enjoy hiking, reading fiction, playing video games, watching hockey (Go Avs!!), and doing fun new things with my kids and Girl Scouts.
