I have been a classroom teacher for 16+ years before becoming an interventionist a few years ago then joining Adams 12 school district as a Learning Specialist. I enjoy helping learners find ways to learn best through what works for them. Mathematics is a subject that is a challenge that I enjoy figuring out through various strategies. Finding a way to demystify, or make sense out of math, I believe, is not only possible, but extremely important to making it useful and practical for everyday life. I like to find multiple ways to solve problems and guide learners find what makes sense for them to solve mathematical problems.
While not teaching and preparing curriculum, I love to create--papercrafting and card-making especially. I love nature, animals, and adventure, so hiking, cycling, skiing, and traveling are some of my favorite hobbies. I consider myself a life-long learner and like to venture out to explore new possibilities and challenges.
