I am Mr. Jones, and I teach Individuals and Societies (American History) at Century Middle School.
I am a Colorado native; I lived in Denver as a young boy, but I graduated from Sterling High School, out there on the plains of Northeastern Colorado. After high school I moved back to Denver to attend Regis College in the northwestern part of the city. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Secondary Education.
After graduating from college I was hired to teach both English and American History to 8th graders at Pecos Junior High School in Adams 12. Before my 3rd year at Pecos our school district made the transition to middle schools (and Pecos became Niver Creek Middle School), and I made the transition to teaching social studies full time.
After six years at Niver Creek/Pecos I was hired to teach at the brand-new Century Middle School in 1998. During my time here at CMS I have taught 8th grade History, 7th grade Geography, and numerous electives, including reading, technology, and PE/Health. I have also been teaching the IBMYP program since it started here in 1999.
Even though this is very different this year, I am looking forward to another excellent year with the Comets and the Eagle Core!
