I am Michelle Pearson and I am proud to be a part of the Rocky Mountain Core teaching Individuals and Societies (Geography/Social Studies)! I love exploring the world around us and am committed to learning right along side each one of you!
I joined the Century Middle School in 2015, after working with social studies and language arts teachers across Colorado as part of the History Colorado Preservation Programs team and as part of being the 2011 CO Teacher of the Year. Prior to my two years at History Colorado I taught for eight years at Hulstrom Options School, twelve years in the Catholic schools in Denver, and taught at a private school in Virginia.
I recieved my BA in History, Geography, Education, and Historic Preservation from University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and my MS.Ed. in Technology Integration from Walden University. I am part of a geek team that loves to work with technology (www.twogeekyteachers.com) and I work with others across the state to learn about and preserve our national parks and historic sites.
I have three boys, three border collies, and a turtle at home and we all (except the turtle) love to travel and are actively involved in scouts and other activities - especially traveling.
